From raw material to
custom alloy

Our process transforms recovered aluminum into premium low-iron alloys with tight alloying element levels and exact chemical composition.

01

Receiving & Sorting

Recovered aluminum is received, screened with a radioactivity detector, sorted by alloy family, and prepared for smelting. Contaminants and unwanted materials are removed.

02

Furnace Melting

Sorted aluminum is melted in our furnaces (reverberatory, rotary, and tilting) at high temperature, transforming into liquid metal ready for treatment.

03

Fluxing & Degassing

Fluxes are applied to remove oxides and impurities. Rotary degassing with nitrogen removes dissolved hydrogen, reducing porosity.

SiCu
04

Composition Adjustment

Alloying elements (Si, Cu, Mg, etc.) are precisely added to achieve the exact chemical composition specified by the customer.

05

Spectrometric Analysis

Our Thermo Scientific ARL 3460 spectrometer, calibrated with certified reference standards, verifies composition before every pour.

06

Filtration

Before pouring, liquid metal passes through a filtration system to trap non-metallic inclusions, ensuring the cleanliness of the molten aluminum.

07

Casting & Solidification

Refined aluminum is poured into ingot molds, donut molds, or bar molds. Each batch receives a chemical analysis certificate.

Spectrometric analysis
on every heat

Every heat is verified with our Thermo Scientific ARL 3460 spectrometer, calibrated with certified reference standards, to guarantee exact chemical composition before pouring.

01

ARL 3460 Spectrometer

Our Thermo Scientific ARL 3460 spectrometer analyzes 12+ elements simultaneously via spark optical emission (spark-OES). Calibrated with certified reference standards for maximum precision.

02

Multiple Analyses per Heat

We perform multiple spectrometric analyses during melting and at the time of pouring to guarantee homogeneity across the entire heat. If composition does not meet spec, we adjust and re-analyze until the required range is achieved.

03

Certificate per Batch

Every batch includes a chemical analysis certificate with exact element percentages and metal cleanliness evaluation, traceable to our calibration standards. Radioactivity measurement is performed independently on raw materials and finished product.

04

Trace Control

Particularly important for alloys like A356.2 where iron must be kept ≤0.12%. Trace control allows us to guarantee primary-base alloys when the customer requires it.

The
aluminum extrusion process

We manufacture bars and ingots with chemical composition optimized for the aluminum profile extrusion process. Our extruder customers process our material to create architectural, structural, and industrial profiles.

01

Billet Heating

The aluminum bar is heated to ~480°C in homogenization furnaces, reaching the ideal temperature for plastic deformation.

02

Extrusion Pressing

A hydraulic ram pushes the hot billet through a die with the desired profile shape, at pressures up to 15,000 tons.

03

Cooling & Stretching

The extruded profile is cooled in a controlled manner (air or water) and stretched to correct any distortion and relieve internal stresses.

04

Cutting & Finishing

Profiles are cut to length and may receive finishing treatments such as anodizing, powder coating, or CNC machining.
